AGNES WINGATE BIO:
I have a wide background in art, specifically the skill of naturalistic drawing and oil painting. Growing up in the home of a local artist, Henry Wingate, my father, I attended art classes over the years my whole middle and high school. After two and a half years at Christendom College during which I studied history with a special interest in art history, I transferred to a small atelier called Charles Cecil Studios in Florence, Italy, to study oil portraiture. I attended Charles Cecil Studios for two terms over the last year and a half. The first term focused on pencil and charcoal drawing and the second on oil painting. Between terms, I continued my studies with Henry Wingate in Virginia for six months. I am continuing my studies this summer in Virginia, and have now studied and practiced drawing and painting full time for two years. Throughout my studies, I have consistently offered private and group art classes to children of various ages over the last two years as well.
